Massimo Pesce was born in 1965 in a town north of Padova, Italy.
After completing high school, he began working as shop assistant, carpenter, plumber, metalworker and artisan.
In 2003 Massimo moved in Umbria, Italy, and later on in Tuscany, where he currently lives, and started to be involved in design and web design.
Since 2005 Massimo have been working together with the calligrapher Monica Dengo by organizing local and international workshops, and he have established together with others the association CIAC — Centro Internazionale Arti Calligrafiche.
From to 2009 to 2011 Massimo have taught typography workshops.
With CIAC they invited to Italy the American typographer Amos Kennedy to teach with Paolo Lazzarelli, a typographer from Arezzo. The workshops were about creative wood-type printing and posters. These workshops continued until Paolo’s departure.
From this experience Massimo Pesce opened “Atipicapress”, a garage in Arezzo dedicated to letterpress printing, where the main front door becomes the showcase.
